Slate Remembrance and Memorial Plaques
create an impression with hand cut stone…
Inspire your customers, clients and stakeholders with truly unforgettable hand carved stone lettering. Perfect for public works such as architectural projects, sculptures, war memorials and one-of-a-kind plaques. I’ve had the absolute privilege of being commissioned to cut distinctive and elegant stone lettering for a number of public works.
Hand carved stone lettering for public works
Some of my most notable work in recent times has been for commemorative inscriptions in stone, such as when working on the King Richard III commemorative memorial plaque in the centre of Market Bosworth. Hand carved in Broughton Moor Cumbrian green slate, this piece was conceptualised, designed, sourced, hand carved and managed by me on behalf of the Market Bosworth Parish Council. The finished artwork now sits proudly in the town square.
Hand carved stone lettering for war memorial plaques
Commemorating our brave service personnel with elegant and distinctive heraldry and lettering is always an honour. I have completed a number of projects delivering hand carved lettering for stone war memorials. My more recent work includes cutting the lettering for the war memorial for The Guinea Pig Club, and an intricate inscription on the NAAFI Memorial, both situated at The National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.
I really loved working closely with sculptor Graeme Mitcheson to create these impressive and poignant pieces. We enjoy a close working relationship, as I do with many other architects and designers across the UK.
